Miami International Airport (MIA) is the busiest airport in Florida and is 8 miles west of downtown Miami. It has a passenger capacity of over 56 million passengers annually and operates more than 1,000 flights daily to 185 destinations all over the world. The airport is particularly significant for traveling to Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. It is also the busiest international cargo airport in America and a primary hub of American Airlines. MIA has 3,300 acres and serves the U.S. to cities in the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Miami International Airport is one of the major hubs where travelers visit South Florida and even other destinations. The following are the distances and travel times to the most popular destinations that are reachable through MIA:
The statistics indicate a precipitous decline in 2020 and a robust recovery trend to 2024, with the passenger count peaking in the data series in 2024.

Miami International Airport consists of three terminals and six concourses, having a total of 131 gates. Customs facilities are available in most concourses with the exception of Concourse G.
The biggest part is Concourse D, which has 51 gates. American Airlines uses this concourse solely. The eastern part was opened in 1995, and the other parts were opened in March 2013.

There are three concourses in the Central Terminal. Concourse E has 18 gates and initially opened in the early 1960s, with a satellite terminal being added in 1974. Concourse F has 19 gates and was opened in the 1970s. Concourse G has 14 gates and was opened in the mid-1960s.

The North Terminal is used by American Airlines only. This terminal has American Airlines lounges, such as Admirals Clubs and a Flagship Lounge. This section also has an American Express Centurion Lounge.
The Central Terminal is a mixed-use facility with three concourses. Concourse E is primarily used by American Airlines and its partner airlines, with some Caribbean and Latin American flights. Concourse E contains a special gate that can accommodate the huge Airbus A380 aircraft at the satellite terminal. Other domestic airlines and Canadian airlines use concourses F and G.
The South Terminal is the primary center of international flights of airlines that are not partners of American Airlines. Concourse H is mostly occupied by Delta Airlines and international airlines that use smaller aircraft, most of which are based in Central and South America. Most international airlines that operate large aircraft are handled in Concourse J. There is also one gate in this concourse that is capable of handling the Airbus A380.
Miami International Airport is one of the busiest airports in America, with more than 55 million passengers and numerous flight operations in 2024. It links Florida to most countries, particularly in South America and the Caribbean. The airport boasts three terminals, 131 gates, and over 1,000 flights in Miami every day. Since the large decline of 2020, the number of passengers has increased powerfully year after year. Moreover, with its crowded travelers, it is highly important to book your flights as early as possible. The last-minute booking may be costly and scarce, so it is better to make a flight booking in advance to get a better price and choice.
