Van Nuys Airport (VNY) is a publicly owned airport in the Van Nuys district of Los Angeles, California. It is one of the busiest general aviation airports in the world, operated by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), with more than 230,000 takeoffs and landings every year on its two parallel runways. The facility was originally opened as Metropolitan Airport in 1928, and the name has been changed a lot of times, and was mainly used for military in World War II.
